Marty de Haan
Marty de Haan is a 39-year-old Army veteran and fitness leader in the ADF seeking to help the local community through sport and fitness. Marty is the Vice President and one of three coaches at the Townsville Triathlon Club. He is a qualified Surf Life Saver, proficient in first aid and water safety, has a blue card for working with kids, and has experience in leadership and management. He is also the second-in-charge of the Lavarack Barracks ADF Triathlon Team.
Marty loves to swim, ride and run in that order, socially, and for his own well-being. To compliment TTC training, Marty swims with Matt Talbott from Townsville Swimming Academy, participates in early morning group rides and completes the odd park run. Marty recently completed a sanctioned Triathlon Australia foundation coaching course and is keen to impart his skills and knowledge to help beginner triathletes towards achieving their full potential. He looks forward to meeting new people and sharing a cup of coffee after a hard workout.
